Born out of a general desire to photograph places without the clutter of people and cars passing by during daylight hours, this series of images quickly turned into a new beast in its own right. Documenting the urban landscape of my hometown of Southampton, MA and the surrounding area, Night Walks became a project that explored a sort of "last man on earth" perspective towards this small part of the world.
In addition to being one of my first projects, this was also my first piece of work done entirely on film, which I processed and digitized myself. The vast majority was shot on a Nikon F3, with work from a few film point-and-shoots and medium format cameras peppered in. Although I definitely struggled with this process at times, I love the effect it creates on the images, and I think it helps to further unify the series.
